We sat down with Quatt CC's Jed Edwards to get his thoughts on this years tournament.
Firstly, you were narrowly beaten by this year’s holders Wombourne in last year’s semifinals, how determined are you to get over that hurdle and hopefully compete in the final this season?
Jed Edwards - Falling just short against Wombourne last year was gutting but we competed in every game and ran them and Himley close, and overall, we were happy with our account we gave of ourselves and in such a strong tournament.
It’s you, Fordhouses and Himley in Group B this time around. You’ve met Himley in the competition before and it was a bit of a nailbiter, Himley coming through on the second to last ball. You’re aware of the threat that Himley pose, but I want to know your thoughts on the new boys Fordhouses?
Jed Edwards - I think Fordhouses will be a great addition. Strong side, and we’ve played against a few of their lads when they played in Shropshire Prem, and I’ve come across a few more from the TWF Madness. So, it’s no surprise that they are in the position they are in. It looks like they have a line-up that will suit this format. They’ll be dangerous.
It’s a big week of cricket as you experienced last season, I just want to know lastly how integral is this competition in your season and how are you looking forward to the challenge?
Jed Edwards - The Floodlit a great a tournament that we feel privileged to be a part of it. To play in front of big crowds in tournaments like this are the games you want to play in. When we began nets in January, one of the first questions I was asked by a lot of lads was “When’s the floodlit?”
The lads love it and love the challenge that comes with it.
